Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated: 5 June 2026
This Privacy & Cookie Policy explains how this website (“we”, “us”, “the site”) handles information when you visit it. We keep things deliberately simple: this is an informational showcase that links out to products sold on Amazon. We do not sell products directly, and we do not ask you to create an account or submit personal data through this site.
1. Who we are
This site is an independent showcase presenting a small selection of books and photography about Frederiksborg Castle and Museum in Denmark. Purchases are completed entirely on Amazon, under Amazon’s own terms and privacy practices.
2. Information we collect
We do not collect names, email addresses, payment details or any other information that you actively submit, because the site has no forms, login or checkout. The only data involved is:
- Technical data automatically processed by our hosting provider (such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit) for security and to keep the site running.
- A cookie consent preference stored locally in your browser to remember your choice (see Cookies below).
3. Cookies
Cookies are small text files (or similar local-storage entries) saved by your browser. This site uses them sparingly:
- Essential / functional: we store your cookie-banner choice (“accepted” or “declined”) in your browser’s local storage so we don’t ask you again on every visit. This is set only by this site and is required for the consent mechanism to work.
- Analytics (optional): if enabled in the future, these would help us understand, in aggregate, how the site is used. They are only activated if you press “Accept” on the cookie banner, and never before.
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by clearing your browser’s storage and cookies for this site, after which the banner will appear again. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings.
4. Links to Amazon and third parties
The “Buy on Amazon” buttons take you to amazon.com or amazon.de. Once you leave this site, your activity is governed by Amazon’s own privacy policy and cookie practices, which we do not control. We may participate in the Amazon Associates programme, meaning a qualifying purchase made through our links may earn us a small commission at no additional cost to you.
5. How information is used
Any technical data is used solely to operate, secure and maintain the website. We do not sell, rent or trade information, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/EEA GDPR or the UK GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct or erase data relating to you, and to object to or restrict its processing. Because this site does not collect identifying information through forms, there is usually nothing for us to retrieve — but you are welcome to contact us with any request.
7. Data retention
Your local cookie-consent preference stays in your browser until you clear it. Server-level technical logs, where kept by our host, are retained only as long as needed for security and operational purposes.
8. Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
10. Contact
If you have any questions about this Privacy & Cookie Policy, please get in touch via the contact details provided on the site.
